Adidas Canada x Ūnika Swim

Adidas Canada x Ūnika Swim

In recognition of Adidas Canada and their initiative to end plastic waste, our founder Betsy Campos was featured in a recent campaign video and photoshoot discussing the importance of sustainable swimwear and sourcing recycled materials.

Betsy is wearing the latest iteration of the infamous Adidas Stan Smith sneaker, featuring PRIMEGREEN upper made with 50% recycled content. She is also featured alongside four models all wearing Ūnika swimsuits in one of our newest colours: ‘MARE’. Bright, fun, and timeless - the name ‘MARE’ was chosen as it is Latin for ‘sea’. As a swimwear brand, we have to be conscious of our environmental impact. Our oceans currently have 5.25 trillion macro and micro pieces of plastic in them. This is why we use ECONYL® fabric which is made from recycled plastic bottles and discarded ghost gear, fishnets, and other plastic waste cleaned up from the ocean and landfills. We also make everything by hand and it is all made to order so that we don’t have any dead stock or wasted fabric. If we do have scraps, we make them into scrunchies to avoid any unused waste. We are proud of the steps that we currently take in order to be a sustainable and an ethical brand and we will continue to learn more as we grow and keep our standards high. If you want to learn more, please check out our Sustainability Mission

The video and photoshoot also feature four of our models in different swimsuit styles to represent uniqueness and individuality. At Unika we specialize in custom swimwear - we have hundreds of styles that can all be made custom to fit ū just as ū are. Whatever your preference is in style or colour, we have swimwear for all ages, shapes, and sizes.

Thank you to adidas canada and all of the creatives involved in the campaign and photoshoot. To see the full video and photoshoot, please head to instagram @adidasca.
